Vanessa Novoa

Teacher’s Assistant

Hello! I’m Vanessa and I have my Alberta Childcare Certification. I lived in Quebec since I was 2 years old which is why I can speak French and Spanish. I completed my university years in El Salvador and that’s where I started as a preschool teacher. I have a beautiful daughter who is 3 years old and she is the world to me.
I’ve always known that I wanted to be a teacher because one of my passions (besides big puzzles) is to teach to all those brilliant little minds! I am always amazed by their reactions and imagination, their innocence and purity of feelings. I do believe that I have to be the best role model to them because they are our future and if we want to have a better world then we have to start and act now with our present generation. I love to see their progression throughout the school year and for me every child is a winner! Love, understanding and patience are the best tools to use when it’s time to teach and in our daily lives. That’s when unity becomes stronger and we can perceive a better future for our children.
To work here in West Edmonton Play School is a blessing for me and I am very happy to be part of the team. Thank you!

Maria Cyre

Playschool Teacher

Hello, my name is Maria Cyre and I am delighted to be teaching with West Edmonton Play School! My passion is caring for children and teaching through play. I have 21 years of experience in this field and one crucial part of my success is that I consider all children to be very unique. You cannot always treat them the same way. I also have a Level II Early Childhood Diploma from Grant MacEwan University. I am originally from Ecuador, South America and I speak fluent Spanish. I have lived in Canada for 27 years, I am married and I have 2 wonderful children. As a family we enjoy the outdoors together and activities such as camping, fishing and relaxing by the fire.
